Green Lake Engagement: Roland and Helen || Seattle Engagement Photographer

I am so thrilled to share Helen and Roland’s beautiful Green Lake engagement session with you all today. I just have to say that I feel so incredibly blessed by my clients. I am convinced that they are the sweetest, most precious people on the planet. It makes me so fired up to see their unique love, and I feel so privileged to be an insider in their stories.

Roland and Helen are one gorgeous couple who chose their engagement photos be taken at Green Lake Park, which is one of the most beautiful parks around Greater Seattle. I could have taken photos of these two all day long! They are so fun together. I am fascinated by how each love is unique and how every couple interacts differently. It didn’t take long for me to find out that Roland and Helen are a blast. Their fun and sweet personalities make me believe that their wedding in October will be fantabulous! (is there a word? well if there wasn’t, I just created it because that’s how I feel about them 🙂 )

Heritage Park, Kirkland: Alex & Viktoriya | Engaged || Seattle Engagment Photographer

Heritage Park engagement: Do you see what I see? How gorgeous and sweet these two look? I’m sure you do!

Do you ever look at couples and think, “Heavens, they’d make beautiful babies!” Don’t feel guilty; I’ll be first to raise my hand. 🙂 I could not get enough of photographing these two. We had so much fun walking around the Kirkland waterfront and the nearby park. It was one of the hottest days in July and well, it accommodated the hotness of these two. We were talking about their wedding, which will be in September.. and even though there isn’t much time for preparations, I saw how calm and relaxed their heads and souls are. Everything is under control – that’s what I felt from them. 🙂 They seem so at rest together. Love is so beautiful and diverse isn’t it? It’s never, ever the same from couple to couple, which is one of the many reasons I love my job so much. 😉

Dragon Fly Retreat Wedding: Lindsay + Sam = Married || Seattle Fine Art Wedding Photographer

Honestly, the love between these two is very sweet and so very strong! Meet Lindsay and Sam.

Both Ceremony and Reception took place at nice and woodsy Dragon Fly Retreat in Bothell, Wa. I can’t begin to describe this interesting wedding. It was one of the most animated ones simply because of Lindsay. Just look through the photos and notice her expressions!  I’ve never met such a passionate anime lover; even their wedding cake was decorated with the anime characters! 🙂

Both Lindsay and Sam are so much in love that showed in every little moment of their Big Day. There were so many parts of their day that made me so very thankful for this job, this joy and the blessing of working with couples like them. Love is such an incredible thing. I never tire of celebrating it.

Sunny Seattle Engagement: Sofiya & Andrew || Seattle Engagement Photographer

My heart could burst with thankfulness for my job. I know I say it all the time, but I feel so grateful for the opportunity to know these beautiful people. Plus, Sofiya is my niece, so does it get any better knowing that my own people recognize my art and want to have beautiful photos for the rest of their life? It’s great!

Marriage is so much more than a day you don a gorgeous gown, say a few words, eat some cake and party. It’s about committing your life to someone. It’s saying, “I’m with you no matter what, through thick and thin and my heart is pledged to you forever.” It’s a representation of Christ and his bride, the Church. It’s laying down your life and serving your spouse selflessly. It’s when God unites two people and makes them one. That’s a pretty big deal. My couples get that. They understand what marriage means, even in today’s culture. I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to find that these days. I don’t really cry much, but I do at the weddings I shoot because they are just so beautiful. I don’t cry over the pretty dresses or the decor, but over the love that is so real and tangible. I cry over the love stories that God has written.

Sofiya and Andrew’s Wedding is next Sunday! I am ecstatic for my niece’s big day and for this great couple to be finally together for the rest of their lives…

What to Wear for a Photoshoot

When it comes to a portrait photography a choice of clothing plays a huge role. So, “What to Wear?” It’s one of the most often asked questions when you plan to have a family or a portrait photo session.

It DOES NOT have to be:

  • “match-matchy” Don’t focus on matching everything; it’s neither interesting nor look good on photos
  • “expensive” or “fancy” Unless you always look that way. If you don’t usually wear that kind of clothing, don’t feel obligated to so for your photo session
  • “brand new” It’s Ok to pull something like ripped jeans and a cool shirt from your closed if you can rock them during the photo session.
  • “stressful” You don’t have to worry about every single item and detail because it suppose to be fun time
